Formula Rationale
Every ingredient in this super high quality massage oil is a Chinese herbal medicinal with a 2000 plus year history of use. Three of the ingredients in this formula are categorized as qi-rectifiers, two are blood-quickeners, and one is an orifice-opener. When combined together, these ingredients move the qi and quicken the blood, thus dispelling stasis and helping the individual overcome the discomfort from a strenuous workout. This is based on the Chinese medical dictum, “If there is free flow, there is no pain; if there is pain, there is no free flow.” Ding Xiang (Fructus Caryophylli), Tan Xiang (Lignum Santali Albi) and Xiao Hui Xiang (Fructus Foeniculi) move the qi, while Ru Xiang (Olibanum) and Mo Yao (Myrrha) quicken the blood. Gui Zhi (Ramulus Cinnamomi) opens the oriface and penetrates turbidity, moves the qi and quickens the blood.
